There's a TSB for this. I had mine fixed in December I think. For some reason the wattage on the amp is only running at 1/2 the advertised power from the factory. The TSB enables the full wattage and wakes things up. I did a post when I got mine fixed that gives the number.

Hi! Just picked up our new 2019 Laramie Blackout edition, yesterday. Gorgeous truck! The 12” Uconnect screen is nothing short of awesome.

Also opted for the 19 speaker HK sound system. Had the Alpine system in our 2013. That system sounded great.

This new system, that you’d think would sound even better, sucks imho. There is very little bass response. Everything sounds tinny and weak. Doesn’t matter what the source. Even wife agreed it sounds poor, and she’s not even into sound systems.

My question is, do these new systems come with a sub, or not? Sure sounds like it doesn’t. Looked under the rear seat, where the enclosure for our 2013 Ram has its sub, and there’s nothing there.

Anyone else opt for the HK system, and find it lacking?? Is there a sub hidden somewhere other than under the rear seat? Seems absolutely crazy to have a newly redesigned top of the line system, and NOT include a sub...
I have a 2019 Ram Power Wagon, traded in a 2015 Longhorn. The bass on this HK is beyond weak and I have the bass speaker in the back. I even removed it to see if they forgot to hook up the wires. Took it to Tobin Dodge today and they said there was a recall on this issue, said it needed a software update,no big deal. Just picked it up a few hours ago and the bass is now 3/10 before it was 3/10. My last Ram had awesome bass with it set in the middle on the equalizer. I can't say how disappointed I am with the sound system.

I didn’t get the HK but all the way through their new line up the speaker/ radio sucks balls. Good luck trying to get them to do anything about it. In 20 years of being a Dodge Ram customer I had never delt with either the unwillingness to fix known problems or out right discrimination from local dealerships to the point that for the first time in 20 years I had to go to a 3 rd party specialist recommended by the selling dealership to fix the problem meanwhile I’m left holding the 3,000 bill. The sound processing ability of these new ram trucks is beyond subpar it in now way shape or form represents what I have come to expect as the standard from previous models.

I went through this and I am on my 3rd Radio but the good news the audio that was super weak, including the bass is now fantastic. To get even halfway decent volume response early on I had to crank the volume up to 18-19 and now level 10 is extra loud. Did not have to change speakers or the subwoofer, the dealer found an update that fixed everything. Have your dealer contact Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge’s Service Manager in Missoula, MT for details. I cannot say enough about how much better my 12” uConnect SiriusXM radio works now. And I highly recommend using the system’s Wi-Fi option so that you can tune the upper channels (700 & up) since they offer better fidelity.

Don’t forget to setup a “User” and save it to the door memory button or you will lose your presets!

Update: As bizarre as it sounds, I just installed the batting material around the subwoofer "gaps, filling them or stuffing the gaps while being careful not to place material over the face of the subwoofer and what a difference this made. My bass is 10X better than it was without the batting. This was so simple I thought it was a phony solution. The volume control can actually be turned down a level or two and still deliver great response. I have hearing loss and this has been a welcome change. Wow, sometimes the simplest things make a big difference! Thanks to the gentleman who suggested this fix!!!
Do you have a picture of what you did?

Well they must have fixed the problem. I just traded my 2016 Sport with the Alpine for a 2020 Rebel with the HK system and it's beyond awesome. Sounds cleaner than the Alpine at higher volumes. And as most of you have said the Alpine is no cheap system. No problem with the bass at all and unlike most other systems I have had, the EQ can be left alone [especially since it only has three sliders].

I disconnected the HK factory 10” subwoofer and I installed 2 Sundown Sa-12’s in a ported fox box. I installed the PAC-AP4-CH41 to get my signal, Hifonics Brutus Gamma 2200.1D, and a Soundstream 4 farad capacitor. Here are a few pics
