Whether you paint or powder coat them the key to having a durable finish lies mostly in how they are prepped. Mine are painted and clear coated, but I am contemplating having them powder coated when its time for new rubber. Powder coating is durable and I am concerned that over time brake dust will damage the clear coat. At least that's my excuse for when my fiance asks why I clean my rims every other day.:D
