It seems that some mice or rats snuck into my 2002 1500 Dodge Ram and decided to make it their home. I got them out, but I believe they might've tapered with the wires for my head unit. I don't really know much about trucks, I'm just looking for kind of a quick fix. I took out the stereo and checked what I think are all of the connections and everything seems alright, however I haven't found where the wires run to so there could be a loose connection there. I'm hoping they didn't bite one of the wires or something. Does anyone have any advice? Or even know how much something like this would cost for someone to fix? My dad's good with this sorta stuff and I'm visiting him this weekend so if someone can give me some pointers I'd really appreciate it. Driving and listening to music is probably my favorite thing to do, I'm dying!!

Welcome to the forum.

One thing to do, if you can identify the specific wires and where they go, is to do a continuity check between both ends, at the head unit to the amp or at the head unit to the speaker, etc....No voltage means that line is broken somewhere. Then you really get to dig to find the broken spot!

Can you give us a little more information so we can maybe point you in a closer direction of what to check as opposed to telling you just check everything? Does the radio work and no sound out of one or more speakers? Does it not turn on? Does it turn on and go off and on whenever it feels like? What specifically are you having trouble with?

For troubleshooting the problem it could get pretty costly as a shop would charge you whatever their labor rate per hour would be and who knows how long it could take them to find the problem. I would suggest figuring it out on your own and taking it somewhere as a last resort. Let us know some more specifics and we can try to help you out a little more.

And welcome to the forum.
