I just ordered a set of Pacesetter headers with armor coat. Anyone know how bad the temps will be on a drive of 10 hours or so? Also anyone have experience with headers on long drives?
You'll not notice a big difference. I live in the Arizona desert and have had Edelbrock headers for MANY years on my '01 5.9. It's also one of the EASIEST mods I've done.
Oh, and to answer the long trip question..I've done 5 + hour long trips...not a problem. Don't sweat this mod. It's a no brain-er and helps your Ram breathe.
I agree it won't be bad. Something you will notice though is that they will cool off WAY faster than cast iron manifolds. They will be cool to the touch in about 15 or so minutes.
