Hello,

Today I traded in my 2010 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 2WD w/ 3.21’s for a 2018 Ram 2500 CC 4X4 w/ 4.10’s and Anti Spin Differential. Only put on 130 miles on it so far, but I am loving it. Can’t wait to see how it tows my 5500 lb camper compared to the 1500 with 3.21’s.

Looking forward to learning more about the truck here.

Congrats, I too traded up but they only had a 6.4 with 3.73 gears. I pulled my TT weighing about 7500 and got better mileage than my 5.7 with 3.92s and really pulled better over all. Love my new truck very much. You will see! Enjoy

Welcome to Ramforumz and congrats on the new truck! You really don't need a 3/4 ton for a 5500 lb trailer, but the 2500 will pull the snot out of that trailer compared to your 2010

Congratulations! Finding one with 4.10's was pretty lucky too. You won't hardly tell it's even back there.
Thank you

I actually originally went to the dealer to look at a new 1500 with 3.92’s. The one that the salesman was going to take me to was at their other lot and we were about to go see it when I spotted this 2500. I just lucked out that it had the 4.10’s

Thank you. I know another 1500 with lower gears would have towed my camper just fine, the tow rating of the 1500 I was originally going to see was 10,200 lbs because it had the 5.7 Hemi with 3.92’s.

But when I saw this 2500 had the 6.4 Hemi and the 4.10’s along with the fact they were having a sale on it making it about $1k less than the Big Horn I was going to go see, I figured I would get it instead. The 2500 is rated to tow 15,630 lbs and a payload of 3,690 lbs. Should tow my 5,500 lb camper easily. lol
My 1500 with the 5.7 and 3.21’s was rated to tow 5,880 lbs

Congrats, I would likely trade my truck in if I found that deal. As mentioned, finding 4.10's on a lot is TOUGH. I've been looking as my lease is nearing the end, but I'll probably just end up buying mine out.

Congrats!!! Man, you were damned lucky to find a 4.10 on a dealer lot!

I had to order mine just to get the 4.10 rear end.

Thanks, yeah EVERY Ram dealer within hours of me only has the 3.73’s on the lot. The dealer I bought mine from is local. I talked to the salesman after I found out it had the 4.10’s and he said this was the only 4.10 rear end one they had ever ordered, normally they only ordered the 3.73’s. I’m sure happy with it !
