Hey guys, sorry for the all caps in the title, but I'm under a time crunch to get this fixed so I can finish getting my truck registered, so I can drive home when I EAS from the Marine Corps.
Anyways, I bought this 04 dodge ram 1500 5.7l hemi fairly recently, and the parking lights didn't work. Since they have to work for the NC inspection to register it, I thought great, it'll probably be an easy fix, and I can knock the price down for it. Well, I did all the simple stuff, checked fuses, checked bulbs, and lightly inspected the wiring, but I couldn't find any problems.
Wanting to get this done quickly, I decided to just take it to a local auto shop to see what they could do. While I was still there, he found that he wasn't getting a ground at the fuse box. I saw when he wiggled the pin on the fuse box, he got quick glimpses of a good ground. After I left he took the fuse box out and tried to see if he could find any other bad grounds, but he couldn't. His call is a bad fuse box. Now, he quoted me 800 bucks just for a new fuse box, saying that only an 04 fuse box from that specific model can go in there. I went to the local dodge dealership and they quoted me 1000, just for the box! I've currently got an appointment to get it look at at the dealership, just to make sure before I go drop all that money.
So my real questions are is what that guy said about the fuse box true? And are there any reliable websites that I could buy one cheaper for, if it really does end up being a bad fuse box?
Thank you guys so much for your time, as you can tell, I could really use the help!

Couple of ideas. Not sure these will fit your truck, need the OEM part number to be sure.

The second one you will need the OEM part number. Six lines down there are 3 or 4 TIPMs.

Another link from the same site, but you will still need the OEM P/N.

Got these from doing a Google search using "2004 dodge ram 1500 tipm". Do the search, as there is more info out there then I can copy and paste. Another good way to search is if you can get the OEM part number and use that as your search criteria.

Good Luck.
