So I had a blow out yesterday, tire is beyond repeair. I have about 20k on the stockers (Goodyear SR A 275 60r20). I am trying to decide if I should buy a replacement and run the stockers till they are done a little under $200 installed, if I should bite the bullet and get new 18's with 35" tires and put my level on it, or if I should get these used but 50-60% thread left 305 55r20 Nitto Terra Grapplers I found on craigslist which I will be able to trade a TV I dont use (packed away in my garage) and $100 for. Cant make up my mind! really leaning away from brand new set all around as I will probably trading mine in within a year to get one with the 8 speed and 3.92. Thanks in adavnce for your help!!!:4-dontknow:

Since the bug is already in your head about trading in I would go with just the single replacement.

Hey Paige, Just jumped on and seen your thread about your blow out. Unfortunately it happened to me today . Going down the interstate at 70 my left rear tire blew. I have 37k on mine and with a good bit of tread left. Now the question is the same. Do I just buy one tire or buy two and put them in the front. I was pretty impressed at that speed the truck did't react in any negative way. When I say it blew, I mean it blew up. I feel lucky it didn't mess up my fake chrome rim. Guess I'll have to make that decision Monday. Right now changing all four is out the question. Was hoping to let them last to next year.

It's a toss up between just one replacement or a pair. Personally I'd buy just two new ones so as not to have any driving issues and you have a 20K used spare that "you" put the 20K miles on. I'd pass on craig's list tires as most everyone isn't honest about the real mileage on used tires or more importantly their age.

I found 4 slightly used 275 65r20 Goodyear wrangler ATS that I was able to pay $100 for and an old tv I had in my garage on a shelf (I love bartering) just had them mounted and balanced (another $50 and a case of beer) and I couldn't be happier. Gave me an extra inch, who can't use that, and the ride quality feels much better. I couldn't stand those stock Goodyear SR's. 2 of the 3 tires left over can be sold for what I paid for either all four or I'll save them for my dad, he has a 2013 ram 1500 as well. Overall all four installed are the same price as I was finding for a single used SR A

Sounds like you got a good deal. The only TV's I have on the shelf would be older analog models. Don't think I could even give those away at this day in time. Good decision on the trade. Now do you really miss that TV?

Haven't turned it on in a couple of years. So I am good. Very happy, good luck with yours.
