any feedback is appreciated...

a while back I bought a 22" Magnaflow and a "y pipe" for collection point.

I am having it installed tomorrow morning and would love to have some feedback.

The guy that took a look wasn't sure why/how to fabricate the y pipe. thinks its not worth the time to rerun the pipes. seems like when I bought it everyone on here recommended doing it because it was less restrictive. so of course, I went ahead and got it. Has anyone else had shop tell them that? Should I go to new shop?

Lastly, for those of you running 22 Magnaflow did you keep or delete resonator. Cant decide if I should pull the trigger on a delete. I want mildly aggressive and no drone. recommendations?

I just did the same mod. I did the exhaust first and Y pipe the following week. The Y pipe will introduce a little bit of drone at 100 km/h (did on mine). The Y pipe was an expensive mod (shop I used took two hours to cut, bend, and weld in two new pipes to the Y pipe. I watched them do it and unless they have done it before would still require two hours to install it. With our labour rate at $80/hr and a $50 y pipe plus two 3" pipes it ended being a $300 install here in Canada. I kept my resonator. I love the new sound but I have a tendency to put my foot into more to hear the growl. The Y pipe opens it up more than just the exhaust.

I "straight piped" (kind of) mine, removed both resonators and muffler, removed existing Y. Installed two new Maggy Ys, One at the headers, than one where my muffler used to be.
Thing rattles windows now! Everyone loves her

When I installed my 22" Magnaflow (stock y pipe), I chose to keep the resonator on. A week later, I decided to remove the resonator and now I love it. Keep in mind my truck is an Outdoorsman with a single 3" inlet and single 3" outlet.

thanks for all the feedback...due to time constraints on my part I just had them swap mufflers and leave the rest alone. I like it! Could handle a little more so I'll probably go by there in the next few weeks when I can leave it for a few hours to replace the Y and delete resonators.

Regardless, nice improvement!
