Looks like I have narrowed down my new truck to a Dodge Ram Crew Cab Sport. I'm thinking of having the dealership put the Mopar 4" lift on it and swap the tires and wheels to 35". If I can not find one should I order one with the gear to a 3.9 instead of the stock 3.5. I have hered that the bigger tires puts alot of stress on the truck and the 3.9 would get me better mpg and power with the bigger tires. What do you guys think. Any help would be great.

I think I'm going to put 18" rockstars and some Generals At 2's ( 35x 12.5 18)

I agree, if you are gonna install 35's and a lift I'd suggest getting the lowest gears available.

Why on earth would you be wanting to lift a new truck? Get a 4X4 with the 20's they are plenty high just stock. I can work under mine without jacking it up. I notice you live in Clarkston MI. I lived there for many years on Holcomb Rd before moving to Florida. I learned to get 4WD the hard way when my 2WD truck couldn't get up my driveway in the snow. As I recall there really isn't anywhere you can go where you would need a lifted truck anyways in Michigan. A 4X4 RAM is going to be head and shoulders above the traffic just stock. Also, the 4X4 is closer to level than the 2WD trucks anyways, the fronts sit higher.

My personal taste generally runs in the higher the better category, but my practical side says "do I really need those big tires and that lift?" My truck has the 33 inch tires stock, an it sits high in the rear, but I plan to put Bilsteins 5100 ride height adjustable shocks on the front to take care of the rake issue. I def want a bit more front height. I plan to put a set of 265s or 275s, bit more aggressive tires on it than the stock ones to reach my secret fishing holes. (only because here in Maine theres plenty of places to get into some rough country) I will keep my original tires though for trade in purposes, unless I fall in love with this truck after mods in which case I may keep it longer than my last 2, and sell the stock tires. Just my .02 cents. :)
