so assume you have your new Ram 1500 of whatever trim and engine (i'm on order status for a Laramie EcoDiesel)... you've had your truck for let's say 30 days and put on about 2K miles, enough to get a good feel.

now you have a chance to go back and do it again, or for same purchase, pick another truck (ie F150 EcoBoost, Chevy/GM) - would you do it again or would you take the "other" truck, and if so, why?

The Chevy and GMC just do not do anything for me, I looked at the Fords but like Chevy and GMC the Fords just did not get my attention and I had every intention of buying a Ford this time but once at the dealer the Fords just were not peaking my interest.

So I would buy my current Ram 1500 with the Pentastar engine and eight speed transmission all over again.

We went looking at Rams because, with 4wd and the neutral position, they are towable. Ford has to have an add on of some sort, G M says 'no'.
If we had lots of money, maybe we would have opted for a more fancy model but this one fits our needs and we paid for it. We are happy with it.

I've had my 1500 Bighorn for 2 weeks/500 miles. I have a 2013 F150 ecoboost at work that was new when I got it last summer. The Ford is nice but I wouldn't even consider it compared to my new truck. The new 2015 Ford may be a different story but the 2014 and older Ford is really a 10+ year old design that wasn't the best even when it was new.

I would buy my 2013 Ram SLT quad cab, 8 speed, 3.6 all over again, maybe only get a few more options this time around. I never even looked at the Chevy, I checked out the Ford for a bit, but I already had a Ram before this one. The Ford seemed to be about 3 to 4k more for about the same model in terms of options. The choice was easy for me then and would be just as easy now.

My dealer group I work for includes GMC and I have connections and used to work for a ford dealership, so I had deals aplenty on everything but Ram. I went with the Ram because I liked the style and the 8-speed V6 combo. I really wanted the EcoDiesel but the $4000 premium over the V6 made no financial sense. I'm very happy with my truck, I do wish Xenons where and option. I also wish I had at least priced out a Laramie over the Big Horn just to see how it would have worked out. Leather and auto climate would have been nice.

Would buy RAM again!

I'd certainly re purchase my RAM 1500 Tradesman regular cab. I test drove the F150 and looked at the Chevy Silverado, but the Ram was by far the best value. I am very happy with my Ram and have been getting nothing but compliments on the Granite Crystal color since day 1. I would only add a few more bells & whistles .. leather interior and factory side steps to name a few.

I have had my truck 30 days today and about 1100 miles on it. I really like it. I would definitely buy a Ram again. If I could do it over, I would have gotten the Anti-spin differential and fold out tow mirrors. I think I would have also got the 6 speed instead of the 8 speed transmission with the shifter on the column. I don't really like the knob on the dash.

I would not change one single thing. Absolutely buy it again in a second.

I would buy a Ram again possibly a 2500 instead of a 1500 at some point. Chevy needs to get away from the ugly square look they have. The new 2015 F150 looks goofy and insurance is going to be crazy. Not many body shops are going to be able to repair them.

After 2 months and 6900 Kms I would do it again. If Ram were to offer a higher trim level in Canada with the V6 (Outdoorsman was top) I would have considered going higher.
I've heard the Laramie can be ordered with a V6 in the US.
Auto climate would have been a nice option as well as the convenience pkg.

As far as my 14 Express I would. Chevy, ford and the others don't make a reg cab this nice in this price range. Same with the 13 Lone Star CC 4x4 I just had the other trucks cost more with less options. My friend has a nice XLT exoboost and paid about the same as I did for my crew but his didn't have all the options like the touch screen, ext. Now if I was going fully loaded and had cash to get it I love my boss raptor. Its just a bad ass truck. I am also a fan of the King Ranch package over the longhorn. I like the seats better. If I did get a for though 5.0 all the way I love the V8 sound so a exoboost could never make me happy. But my friend owns a Vette shop and does my work on my 98 Trans Am and was going to get a Chevy till he saw my ram and looked up the options and prices and he now has a 8spd 2wd lone star quad cab. Liked the look and options and the price with rebates sold him on it completely.

3 months and 4500 miles in I would definitely buy my truck again. The only things I would change are: I'd have the dealer install Katskin leather seats and I'd get the wheel to wheel side steps, instead of the ones that only go under the door.

2 Months and 5200 Miles. Not a chance that I would buy again with this shitty on demand 4x4 system. There is no real 4 Lock or 4 Low.

I'd have purchased a Super Duty or Raptor. I have had two Rams prior to this and will likely never own another.

I downsized and downgraded from a 2012 Crew 4x4 Lonestar Hemi to my now 2014 Regular Cab 4x4 Hemi 6speed Tradesman and would do it again with Ram. I just wanted a bare bones work truck this time around. Ford, Chevy? Nah not for me. They're ok if that's your thing. I'm not a bow tie kinda guy and nor do I care for Fords.
