Hey fellas, hope someone may be able to lend some knowledge on this one. My truck is running hot....but not too hot. Just hot enough that the engine fan stays on 90% of the time when its not runnin down the highway. Idling and in city driving is when this happens.

I went off-roading last spring and got a bunch of gunk in the rad, and have been spraying it out religiously ever since. Took her to dodge and they replaced everything except for the rad itself.

This is annoying as all hell always having the electic fan on. With summer looming again, I'm hoping to get this figured out this time round.

There is a coil cleaner you can buy at hardware stores the air conditioning guys buy to clean a/c units. Think it is like $10-$15.

Doesn't take much to plug up the fins on any vehicle. You may have to pull it out to see the problem area(s) though.

guys with jeeps also power wash their rads from the inside out to flush out debris. careful on the strength though. also check to see if any antifreeze is in your oil.
yea ive been spraying inside out for awhile now, always get a little bit every time. Its just hard with how big the fan shroud is. No antifreeze in the oil so the intake gasket is fine :smiley_thumbs_up:

Any idea what that product to clean the fins is called? Thanks for the help guys, its is big time appreciated

I am in hvac, and the cleaner he is talking about comes in an aerosol can. It is just called coil cleaner. You can get it at Home Depot in the aisle where the sheetmetal stuff and air filters are. It is around $5 I think. Just spray it on, let it sit and foam up, then rinse off. Not sure if it will work in this application, but I guess it's worth a try.

Here is a link to it. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...isplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=coil cleaner&storeId=10051
