For starters just use a can of SEAFOAM, some in the throttle body, the rest in the gas tank
Just follow the instructions
You can find it in any auto parts store

http://www.seafoamsales.com/

I would Not put in in the crankcase, unless the vehicle was quite old

if you do take off your throttle body, i would either pay very close attention to the gasket/seal or replace it

if their is a small air leak, even if you cant here it, it will probably make your truck run worse that it is now,..

I'd just remove it and clean it properly. It's only 4 5/16 bolts. Unclip the sensor and your ready to clean. I prefer maf sensor cleaner and a toothbrush personally. It's much safer on the tb. Try grounding it while youre at it. 4' of 10awg wire and a few terminals makes a noticeable difference. Connect one terminal to the top left bolt of the throttle body, and the other to the ground bolt on the passenger side close to the firewall. Your idle will be steady like you've never seen before.

Curious what adding a ground to the TB does? Never heard of doing that before

^Some think it grounds the electric motor in the TB better and helps out. Some think it does nothing. Some say it can actually cause a problem.

I think it simply does nothing.

I thought you weren't supposed to use throttle body cleaner on the electronic TB's? I was told to use electronic parts cleaner...

Some people claim grounding the tb improve throttle response. I haven't noticed anything drastic. Just a perfect idle. That is undeniable. It used to flutter a small amount but now it's perfect. I unhooked it to see if it was my imagination and it started fluttering again. It won't hurt anything, it's a direct ground to a metal object receiving a weak ground through a harness.
