Well....Its not a tail light at all. Its a break light. it only lights up when the brakes are applied, and might have a cargo light built in which is turned on by a switch on the dash where your headlight controls are.

issue here in Australia is the light is too broght for Australian road rules so they discconect them, problem is finding out how and where the discconection is done so you can reverse it.
