Well I figured that 119000 miles on the factory plugs was long enough !lol
Changed out the plugs to the iridium plugs in my lil 6 and wow I can tell a big difference. That was a fairly easy job, not near as hard as I thought.
After that and after a long time researching I went a head and pulled off my head lights and threw them in the oven!!! Time for the night runner blacked out head light mod!!! What a pain in the butt!!! I'm done with one light and will finish the other tomorrow. More pics then ! Just wanted to share my work with y'all cause my wife just don't get it ;)
Ok sorry my computer is down so give me a few mins to figure out how to post pics from my iPhone

Was the casing easy to back on? Ive seen a bunch of guys around my town who do this and one or both of their lights end up with moisture inside the light and they fog up and turn yellow over a few months and I've been thinking about doing this to my lights.... just wanna hear how it was done from some one else

I oven baked mine and they separated fairly easy. That was the easy part, I spent about 6hours or more picking and pulling out the old glue! That part sucked ! The painting went ok, I had a small amount of black paint seep under on the chrome ring. I put on about a tube and a half of new black sealant Per light when I reasembled and strap the the light down tight with a few straps. I let the lights sit over night to make sure the sealant seal up good. I hope they seal up proper and don't fog up!!

Great job on the lights! The LEDs arent my thing but the black housings rock. My factory lenses were so fogged up I just trashed them and bought a pair of black housing heads from ebay.

Looks like a good job so far. FYI, you can reuse the old adhesive, just pop it back in the oven for 10 min to warm it back up agains and it seals jusst fine. That said, I used silicone to reseal mine as well since it pulls apart easier if I decide to do MORE to mine.

What kind of paint did you use? I got a buddy who did this, but he touched the paint after it was dry and it moved under his finger. Curious to know what has good adhesion to the chrome backing.
