I want to order regular mirrors from my local MOPAR dealer.

Before I do, I was told that the computer would need to be flashed to accept them and that there is also a module in the door that has to be changed.

That doesn't make sense. I'm going to go from power heated lighted folding towing mirrors to power heated lighted folding sport mirrors. The only difference between the two is the size.

Have I been given bad info?

I'll trade mine for yours! Couple of scratches on the chrome from a bank teller drive through though. May have something to do with the tilt while in reverse feature if you have it.

Dealer is telling you wrong. As long as the replacement mirrors have the same features (signals, heat, puddles, etc). You are fine. On my 2010 I went from regular to tows and on my 2011 I went from tows to regular and never had to replace the modules or get anything reprogrammed.

Oh and FYI. I'm currently running 2013 power folding mirrors on my 2011 and all the lights and heat worked fine with my 2011 modules. The power fold doesn't work, but I'm taking care of that another way.

I have to agree with the above. If you are keeping the same features you will be fine. I have tows from a 2010 2500 Laramie on my 2011 1500 Big Horn, same features as I had and everything works fine didn't have to take to dealer for anything.

I think I should clarify my original statement. I guess if I towed, the mirrors would be great. I took a ride with them up and I can see they work well for the job. It's when you aren't using them in the towing position that they suck.

With regard to options, mine do have heat, puddles, and directional lights. I thought it sounded strange that all that other stuff has to be done just to change the size of your mirrors.

ric221: I will consider your offer. First I have to see what kind of a DIY project it will be.

Remove the door panels unplug a couple of wires, remove a few nuts and remove mirrors. Reverse to install. What I call a "monkey and banana" job.
