Hello everyone,

I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500, just bought 2 months ago from my dodge dealer, when I am in 4x4 mode and turn the wheels all the way the truck brakes ans wheels lock up, and the truck almost stalls, like the rpm lowers. Any idea what this is?

Also, isnt there supposed to be a light that comes on to tell me that I am in 4x4 mode? It doesnt, any ideas to get it to work?

thx so much

You are binding up the 4wd. When in 4wd you cannot make sharp turns on surfaces that arent slippery. When in 4wd, your axles are locked, so your wheels are all turning at the same speed.

Yep thats correct. In 4wd you cant do what you do in 2wd when in dry conditions. You should really only use your 4wd when your stuck or nervouse haha.

It is entirely normal, dont do it too much, or you wull be replacing Halfshafts, Diffs or T cases before you know it.
