I'm just about to install an aftermarket deck into my
07 1500 sxt. I bought the deck and went over to futureshop to
grab the dash kit ($30) and the sales rep said i also need a special wiring harness to eliminate the chance of getting warning codes on my dash.
so i bought the dash kit and wanted to ask you guys first before buying wiring harness for $150.
Is he trying to rip me? or do I need this?

Can I get away with just hooking up the supplied wiring harness
that comes with the deck? any input would be much appreciated.

I can't answer your question, but someone else should be posting soon
If you are using a stock radio, what are the 3 letters on the face of the radio, lowest right corner
If you went after market, they will want to know just which radio that you have, so they can answer your question easier
