Has anyone replaced a cluster with a used one? Dealer wants $650 plus $500 core charge and a week to have new cluster programmed.

I replaced mine on my 2002 with a used one from ebay but it took me three tries to get the right on you have to make sure it has all the same features and things as yours like key less entry and the chipped key because things like that are in the back of the cluster.

If I may ask, why are you replacing yours? Is it the infamous tach problem or something else? If that's what it is, there are other options than replacement.

Thanks for the replies. Apparently this cluster has something that makes the interior lights go to sleep after a certain amount of time. After speaking to a couple of mechanics I found out that this is a common problem, after completely going through every circuit I found that the under hood lamp burned out because the on off switch built into the lamp shorted and that was what killed this cluster.
