Which seat is it under? I'm hoping it looks like a common one that I could just swap out easily.

I just looked under both front seats of my '10 CC. It looks to me as though it's mounted under the passenger seat. It looks very similar to the diagram that Randy posted, and if you feel along the top (sort of through the bracket) you can feel what feels like heat sink fins.

It doesn't look that hard to remove, though I don't think an after market inverted will fit in the same location, as they tend to be a bit larger.

If you're any good at electrical you might be able to somehow tap into the factory plug, and mount the new after market inverted somewhere else (there appears to be enough room under the driver's seat)
