I've owned Leer 100XQ's for 14 years. I've bought two of them, both new, one for my 2004.5 Ram 3500 Laramie 5.9/24 long bed and one for my 2016 Ram 1500 Laramie EcoDiesel standard bed (the latter since sold).

The tailgate hatches on both always leaked no matter what was tried in terms of gasketing, adjustment, etc. I just learned to never put anything that I didn't want to get wet anywhere near the tailgate (or if I did to put it in plastic bags). For the record the 2016 with the special tailgate cap still leaked around the glass ... the problem for me hasn't been the bottom edge.

My theory is that it's a function of the frameless glass on the tailgate hatch and the single center handle. It looks great, but based on my experience it's just not a bullet-proof design water-wise.

When it came time to order the cap for my new 2018 Ram 3500 CCLB 6.7 I actually wasn't too upset that Leer no longer makes the 100XQ for the long bed Rams. I ended up ordering a 100R (being installed tomorrow!) which has framed glass on the tailgate hatch and dual manual handles. Not quite as sexy, and there's sadly no option for keyfob lock integration, but I think that's a good trade if I can reliably keep my stuff dry - time will tell, of course ...
