I cant see any pictures. How was the fit and finish of the headers?
You have some nice Mopars MADDOG!I used the JBA shorty headers on another vehicle and really liked them. They are well built and work great. Seriously considering a set for the Ram unless I decide to modify the 6.1L exhaust manifolds sitting over in a corner of the garage.
Went fairly smoothly after a figured out I could ratchet strap the ypipe to the crossmember to give more clearance at the flange as the jba header appears about 1/2 inch longer than manifold. Also there is about on each side that has to be started before you put the header to the head unless you got telekenisi and of course I left them for last on both side so i pretty much did the job twice. The only other concern is the dipstick is touching the driver side header.how hard was it to install? did everything bolt up correctly?
Right now at AutoAnything.com theyre offering $50 of of $299 or more and list for $506. They might even do better than that if you call or chat on the site. No dyno #s but left of curve power is obvious, idle is better, and throttle is instant. I'm running dsp 93 and everything seems a ok. Truck seems more effortless and even doesn't downshift on occasion when it might before.I am very close to finally buying these after debating between long tubes and JBA. If you have any dyno numbers or any other information, I'd love to know. A few questions, does this require tuning? How difficult and involved is the install? And I can't find these for under $492 (JEGS), how did you get them for $450?
It took me about 4 hours with just hand tools. No leaks but the gasket is a strange style, I kept my factory's just in case. To reuse them you could prob just peel off the heat shield. The job could prob be done in an hour a side with air tools and better instructions though. I don't weld and didn't want to mess with the cats so I'm really happy with the price and results. After reading some reviews about these headers, I have 2 more questions. Several people said it took up to 15 hours to install, how long did it take you? And over half of the reviews seem to complain about the gaskets being poor quality and that they leaked, are yours fine?
Awesome man, thanks for answering my questions. I'm hoping I can get headers soon too. Enjoy yours! :smileup:It took me about 4 hours with just hand tools.
