Sounds like a decent deal for the rims. How did they refinish them? Do they have the original clear coating on them? Just curious since my rims are pealing the clear coat finish. I could buy new rims for about the same price, but I would rather keep the originals. I tried looking for a set of them on eBay. Did they already sell out?
They stripped them, blasted the backside, and painted the backside. It looks like they then remachined the front and recleared the whole rim. I sent one back because where it mates to the rotor/drom and rust forms on the brake parts they didn't blast them and they cleared over the rusty area. They sent me another no questions asked and it should be at my house today. They also repaired a spot on the back lip and mahined it smooth as well.
They are list as 1996-1998 dodge ram 17 inch something or other.
Thanks for the quick reply, I did find the auction. Not bad considering how few of these were made. I read the auction. I wanted to ask how was the overall condition, minus the surface that touches the rotor. It says that some can have dings in them. I've bought rims used before for other cars. Some times its a hit or a miss on dings and how out of balance they are.
Id really like to have another set of rims, one for street tires and one for sport tires.
They actually look brand new. There are 2 auctions 1 for used 1 for reconditioned. The recons were actually cheaper for some reason. Here are a few pics of mine. I sent back the defective rimm and they sent a replacement and it had issues too. But they were quick to replace it again. Make sure they don't send any from Maryland if you decide to buy from them. That's where both problem rims came from.
