Sooo I just noticed my front License plate (have to have both here in NY) is only screwed into the chrome bumper. I checked my build sheet, thanks to the forum, and sure enough it states that I should have a front license plate bracket. code#MDAS. Alex from "Ram specialist" 800-726-4636, is working on it.....calling and checking with dealer yada, yada, yada.
Check your build sheet boys!

I'm missing the license plate bracket as well, it is on my build sheet.

Also, FYI to all the guys with Sports out there, the 2011 sports are missing the under hood light and glovebox light... we should have those too!

Anyone have any pics of the OEM bracket style? Does it go where the existing location is or somewhere else?
I'm going through the same "Special People" over at Chrysler trying to find out where my front bracket is since it was on my build sheet. Two months of phone tag with some jerk-off who I never actually spoke with when I finally pressed zero to open a new case closing out my previous case.

Spoke with a new rep named Ryan or Bryan. He couldn't find a part number to even send me a bracket. Called my dealer who claimed that they stopped installing brackets on trucks a couple months before my delivery, and that the part number is no longer available. When asked what that part # previously was, can't seem to share it with me. Best thing offered from Chrysler was reimbursing me to go out and buy a bracket. Still not resolved as I type this.

Anyone actually have a front bracket? Picture? Part Number? Please post....I don't think they exist honestly. I've never seen one other than fabricated ones by our fellow members. I'm leaning toward doing something myself at this point, but since I have a Sport, I'm gonna look under the hood and see what else is missing.

Seriously....you can't make this nonsense up.

Just got my build sheet... and missing these items when i bought my truck.
I would have never known if i hadnt asked for the build sheet to be emailed to me.
A HUGE thanks to whoever brought this up for people to find this information on how to get the build sheets.

So here is what i apparently got screwed out of when i bought the truck...
My Truck: 2010 Hemi Sport 4x4 QC
Code:
CV2P O/Head Console w/Trip Computor/UGDO
LBCP Glove Box Lamp
LBDP AshTray Lamp
MDAS Front License Plate Bracket
MXCS Front Bumper Sight Shields

Anybody know what this one is...??? >>>> "MXCS Front Bumper Sight Shields"

Also, can anybody post a picture of what their "CV2P O/Head Console w/Trip Computor" looks like...?
I`m not sure what it looks like, i dont see any overhead trip computor of the sort in my truck at all.
(but according to my build sheet, its supposed to have it in the truck)

they lied to us all
I have the 2009 Ram SLT w/ plastic bumper, they don't have a bumper license plate bracket MDAS, this what it should look like

fill in with words DIESELTRUCKRESOURCE. com
better image on 2011 Ram, not a contoured fit

They don't have a Overhead console with Trip Computer/UGDO CV2P
i never could figure out what MXCS Front Bumper Sight Shields were

LBDP ASH TRAY LAMP is there, green light shines from the overhead console down in the general direction of the climate controls on the dash, take a sheet of white paper & hold it under the overhead console at night, i think it is controlled by your headlight controls for dimming your EVIC. it is garbage

Looks like I'm calling the special people over at Ram again today to open yet another case. Missing the glovebox lamp, and the under hood lamp on my 2011 Sport.

After reading the above posts, looks like I might as well give up on my license plate bracket, and start fabricated something more than two bolts. Surprised there isn't duct tape holding the front plate at this point. :mad3:

@Rambunkshuss: haven't a clue what that trip computer looks like. The only overhead console type thing I have on my Sport is a the Homelink buttons. On my window sticker is reads Traveler / Mini Trip Computer, and on my build sheet it reads LETS Traveler / Mini Trip Computer. Wonder if that can be found integrated into the EVIC or something.

I was wondering about that Ashtray Lamp....I kinda like that little light. I quite smoking about 15 years ago so I could care less about this nor do I even see an actual ashtray. However, that little light provides enough light to see my cup holder at night. I'll give that one a thumbs up.

Well...since it snowed last night, I think I'll take my truck out and spin the tires....time to find out if they actually installed LSD that I paid for next. Pathetic really......C'Mon Man!!!!!!:nutkick:

I'm sure there's going to be a logical explaination for all this. Has anyone compared their window stickers to the build sheets? I see that HeyBrownDog has but courious to see if everyone's window sticker matches the build sheet. I know not everything will be on the window sticker such as ash tray and such but the big ticket items should be.

Well the good ole Ram Specialist got back to me this morning, and basically told me to go f*ck myself:

Thank you for contacting the Ram Customer Assistance Center in regards
to your 2011 Dodge Ram.

We recommend that you contact the sales manager of your dealership for

further information pertaining to the light group of your vehicle.

Thanks again for your email.

Sincerely,

Harry

Why would I wanna deal with my dealership since these are the people who claim they stopped installing license plates brackets two months prior, have no part number to reference, but tried to sell me a $50 bracket? Give me a break....

Anyone have a pictures of the hood lamp properly installed? I have the Sport hood, but I can see clearly where it would be installed as there is a cut out where it should be.
Thanks!

I'll see if I can shed a bit of light on this.

The Over Head Mini trip computer has been relocated to the dash. If you have the EVIC, you have it all. :)
UGDO = Universal Garage Door Opener
Front License Plate Bracket.. LOL...:hah:....Like this ever existed! Having said that, I can ONLY speak on the 'Sport' model. I have a great parts department here, and with their assistance, we check back to the beginning of the 4th gen Rams, and there is NO factory front license plate 'bracket' for the Sport bumper.

Missing lights -
I have offered the following suggestion to a few Ram owners, and they got theirs dealt with easily.
First, no one, dealership of manufacturer wants to hear about things missed during production, so the trick is to deal with this as a component failure :)
Go to the service department and explain that the other night you wanted to check the engine oil before taking a highway drive. When you opened the hood, the light didn't work. Then going to the glove box to get a flashlight, you noticed the glove box light was also not working and you would like to get both of them fixed.
When the dealer proceeds to 'repair' these and discovers that these items are actually not there, that's when you 'dig out' the window sticker that clearly shows the items listed. :)

After all, you only just noticed them not working, as this was the first time you opened the hood or glove box at night. :D

When this is handled casually as a warranty 'repair', it is then documented in the system as you requesting a repair for a failed item. That documentation goes a long way to getting it resolved quickly.

Also, be careful with the build sheet. There are many items on it that can be misleading and if you react to quick and try to make an issue, it can lead to hard feelings and alienation between you and the dealer you 'need' when the time comes. I have often taken this info to the service and parts departments to ask them if they know what a certain item is, then do further research with their answer. 9 out of 10 times, I discovered that MY lack of knowledge/understanding of the built sheet codes had me chomping at the bit for no reason at all.

Hey guys as a proud owner of an 11 sport I have a bit to add. I wil not be able to recall where I read this exactly ( on one of Dodge's build your RAM sites) but I understood that the under hood and glovebox light were/are factory deletes on the Sport. I thought my under hood light missing was related to the Sport Hood for some reason. As for the front plate holder, I like the clean look of mine without it ( that and the fact that we don't need a front plate here. )

@Brad12kx: Funny that you suggested it wasn't working type approach, as that's how I just emailed my salesman this morning. Told him I was out in the garage, had the hood up when I went to the glove box for the owners manual. Noticed the light was out...not working. Popped the hood as I was gonna add my oil catch can when I noticed my hood lamp not working either. Grabbed the flashlight, and notice BOTH missing the socket, bulb, and pin switch!!! LOL!!!

The difference in this one is gonna be the dealer I'm afraid. So far my dealer hasn't stepped up to the plate other than to collect a check from me by selling me the truck. I'd like to see how this plays out, but with the lies about the license plate bracket so far, I'm not feeling any love from them. Let alone the hour drive to get to their dealership for possibly resolutions. I'm pretty much not even focusing my attention any longer on this license plate bracket. I'll buy my own....wish their weren't holes in the bumper in the first place, but you can't go back in time.

@GreenCrewSport11 That's interesting about the factory delete, but that would explain why nothing is under the hood, and it also explains the blank/plug in the glovebox that someone had to install where the pin-switch would be. Too bad there is still a hole in the side where the light would be installed that you can see the wire, and the quick connector. Would probably take me longer to order, and pay for the parts and add myself. It's just the point....irritates me (as if you can't tell).

The glove box light is just plain silly, and not really a big deal. With the cabin light inside the truck I'm sure to find what I need that would be stored in either of those upper or lower boxes. The hood lamp on the other hand, that has a purpose. On the side of the road, or a in parking lot at night with a dead battery, or simply filling windshield washer fluid at night? That one is important to me, and it will get resolved.

I bet if this was noticed upon delivery of the vehicle it would be installed and/or resolved especially if I said....you know....not taking delivery of this vehicle until everything I paid for is properly installed. Sad....very sad really....

Hey just checked my bag of goodies from when I got the truck. Concerning front liscence plate holder, a small bag containing:
A piece of paper marked " LICENSE PLATE INSTALLATION
PKG68031880AA
INSTRUCTION CARD 68027881AA
4 self threading screws
2 pieces foam rubber
And 4 plastic inserts

Sport Front Fascia:
Secure license plate using dimples in fascia as guides for two (2) self tapping screws. I have to say it looks like the ' bracket' is really two screws and comes in a small bag !!

Remember that sometimes adding packages deletes standard options... It could be that by adding bass pulsing christmas lights you might have to lose the integrated ball chillers.
I don't know, seth...I've been enjoying the bass pulsing christmas lights during the holidays, but I sure would have appreciated those integrated ball chillers this past summer here in Texas...LOL!
