As the title says, I have the K&N 63-1561 CAI on its way. It should be here Wednesday. Anyone have any install tips or cautions I should be aware of. My experiance with K&N is pretty strait forward, but last one I installed was on a '96 Ram 1500 with the 318

Welcome! Enjoy the new Ram! There are a ton of brilliant people and some technicians as well (myself included) on here, and we will help in any way we can. Feel free to send me a message with any questions you may have. Any info you need, we have, and if we dont, someone can find it for you. I am a soldier and myself and a few other members are Mechanics by trade. Everyone has something to offer at the Z. Since you drive a 2009+ (4th gen) Ram 1500, Be sure to take a look at Total Load Control Suspension Systems! Especially if you are hauling/towing alot of gear or toys! A TLC system really is the best way to level our trucks and safely (and reliably) tow/haul your maximum payload. Looking forward to pics of your rig and seeing you active in the community.

Just ordered mine. Hope it's as easy to install as it looks and people on here claim that it is. Last CAI I installed was on my ION Redline and it was a bitch to put on. the filter was piped into the inner fender and you had to have hands/arms that flexed into unnatural positions.

Pretty straight forward easy install. I just put one on my truck. I noticed a slightly better throttle response and theres a noisy whistle when i get on the gas. Havent decided yet if I like the sound or if its annoying.

I invested in some heater hose the hose they supply in the kit is pretty limp and will crimp (the hose for the crankcase) the heater hose worked great and is stronger and im not getting this whistle unlike some when i get on it it just growls and sounds mean also customized it to matched my engine

I put one in a few weeks ago it was not too bad. When you are putting the temp sensor into the K&N tube heat the grommet so it is warm and stretchable. I used a hair dryer and it made that go in much easier, bare in mind I was installing this in 30 degree weather.
