I have a 2011 3500 dodge ram truck. It has a standard transmission. Unfortunately it did not come with keyless entry. It does however have automatic doors and windows. So it shouldn't be a tough addition. However, the dealers I've talked to tell me that one can only add keyless entry on vehicles if you also add the remote start.....and.... You can't do a remote start on a standard transmission. Does anyone know any options beside an after market kit. I would like to stick with a dodge product?

The dealership I got mine from has told me it is possible without the remote start. They said all I needed were the keyless fobiks, and they needed to add the keyless sales code and then do some programming on the remotes. Others on this forum say it doesn't work, but I saw one they had done on the lot (11 ST QC). I am going to pick up some fobiks and have them add the sales code and do the programming when I have some other work done in the next month or so. I will keep you posted on the outcome and see if I can find anything else out about the process.

The OEM remote start will only work with automatic transmissions. They may be able to add the keyless entry portion of the deal by adding the sales codes to the vehicle.

Aftermarket may be the way to go. I understand it is cheaper that the OEM version.
