I put a B&M Transpak shift kit in my '96 v10 w/47re trans, and it was shifting great...nice and firm for about a week. Then before putting it to bed, I floored it from a stop just for fun, spun the tires pretty good. Then the next day it was shifting late into 2nd and 3rd, 4th was normal as was OD.

So this is what I've done:

I found my throttle pressure cable frayed and hanging up, so I replaced that, but it didn't help.

I replaced the governor pressure solenoid and pressure switch, no help.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

I bought that cable at the dealer and it looked like it was not adjustable. I'm not showing a fault code other than 12 on my dash. Could it be that I whacked out the TPS when I floored it? Guess I should check voltage on it.

The kit was 10227.

Thanks for replying.

You were right about the adjustment...it's pretty slick-there's a push button on the plastic housing up where the cable attaches to the throttle body, you push it and you can make changes to the cable length. No threaded rod and nut to tighten up like I was looking for...that's old school I guess. I probably didn't need those solenoid parts I put in...we'll have to say it was preventive.

I put a Transgo kit in one of my cars and was dissappointed overall. 1-2 shift was great but other shifts were about the same. So I'm staying away from Transgo, because in the end, I don't care if all my internal problems are corrected, I just want it to shift harder!

Thanks for the advice Cheatham.

glad you got it figured out, ya my 01 diesel shifted great stock, but iv already drilled holes in valvebody to go back to stock, iv always had good luck with b&m kits in 727s just didnt know there was an application for an 47re.
