I just bought a pair of 3x3 cubes off amazon for my girlfriends truck, same one as mine. I want to wire them to turn on with the reverse lights but I'm not sure how. Ive been on forums and some say to hard wire them into the stock wire and some warn against this and and suggest a relay. Whats the best way to do this? also I've never wired with a relay so as many details would be much appreciated

I did exactly this and this is how I did it:
1. ground each light to the frame or a good ground location.
2. USE A RELAY, it is more safe.
3. Use the trailer harness for your power and trigger sources.
4. 85 gets ground; 87 goes to constant WITH A FUSE IN LINE; 86 is reverse light power out for trigger; 30 is output to the lights power wire.

That is how I have mine hooked up and have not had a problem since. I did the install about a year ago and still going strong.
