I recently purchased the 2" leveling kit from Motofab for my 2009 2WD 1500. Solid billet aluminum, very stout looking. http://www.motofablifts.com/2WD-DODGE-RAM-2-LEVELING-LIFT-KIT-1500-2500-3500-p/dr2-2wd.htm

I am still unsure about the largest tire I can use. I was told by Motofab that the largest I should go is a 33" tire, although I've seen some 2WD 1500's on YT with 35" tires with only a level. Can anyone give me a definitive answer?
The factory tires are 33", you can for sure run bigger with a 2" level.

Thanks. The vehicle had 255/70R17 on it when I purchased it used so I had no idea. I'll see if the shop I'm having install the tires will do some measuring for me to get an idea how large I can go without rubbing anything.

I don't want to sacrifice the nice ride in these trucks just for bigger tires.

After leveling & new tires (KO 2's 275-60-20) and swapping Lone Star Wheels with my husbands Laramie wheels, I (of course :) still wasn't happy with look (too much, "bling") so returned KO 2's and got Grappler A/T G2's 295-60-20 but (of course : ) STILL wasn't happy so ordered 20x10 Fuel Lethal (had to go with only a -12 / 5.0 backspacing) wheels yesterday. Not sure if its going to look "Maximum Steel-ish" enuf...lol

Here's hoping this does the trick cuz the next thing would be a 6 inch 2wd suspension lift (Got estimate $2700+ INSTALLED - would remove level of course) but then would need NEW tires!! IF I "go there" hubby will kill me!!!...Fingers crossed!

TGG

looks awesome what did you use to level? Did the ride change much

I have a 2" level on my 2015 (Top Gunz). My choice of tire is 315/70r17. That is a 34"+ tire. There is a good amount of choices out there for that size. I already have my rims, 17X9 Mickey T Classic III Black (-12 offset). I think I will get myself some Cooper STT Pro...or may be some Dyanpro MT's.

The picture shows it leveled, with stock tires/rims.

I want to add, I did not go with longer shocks, instead I ordered myself some Moog UCA (greasable), and stock size Bilstein 4600. The reason i didn't go with longer shocks was because I heared a lot of times when you do longer shocks, at full droop the UCA hits the shock tower and you hear a clunk. Please note I am not speaking form personal experience, just know from other members who had this...just sharing with you. I am very happy with the set up, but I do notice a rougher ride...happy i did the moog/bilstein combo tho.

hey guys, new member here.
Been looking at all the pics. trucks look great.
I was hoping to get some advice. A buddy of mine is offering me this 4 inch suspension lift by Tuff Country for $300. He says it will fit my 2015 ram 1500 2wd. I will definitely take him up on his offer if it will work. Any info would be a big help.

Heres the link:

Not sure if that will work, 4X4's are set up very different from our 2wd. If you want a 4 inch lift, spindles are your best bet I think.

suggestions:

performance lifts has some decent spindle options, so does MaxTrac.

Are those 17" or 20" in the picture? Also, have you put the 315/70r17's on yet, any rubbing?

The ones in the picture are Stock wheels/tires. They are 20's (20x9) chrome clad and stock tires.

The new wheels are 17x9 -12 offset, so there should be no rubbing on the UCA. With the 315's I might have some light rubbing against the inside plastic fender when turing (key word: might), that would require some very small trimming. Truth be told it depends on the tire too. Not all 315X70 or 35" are the same, some are smaller some larger.

I know no one has posted anything on here in a while, but since i have a 2wd, I am going to post my recent mod on here.

Mickey Thompson Classic II 17X9
Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 315/70r17
2" TGC level
upgraded A arm

Really love the look, no rubbing issues whatsoever. She is a little dirty, but oh well.

How did these turn out for you?

2017 hasn't begun well for my family, so I haven't had them installed yet. Once things settle down and I have them installed I'll post a review.

Sorry to hear bud, hope all works out for you.
FYI, if you want to run larger than 33", you can run a 34, example 315/70r17. On mine with a 2" level I have no rubbing issues.

They will fit on the rim, the only thing is, i don't know what the backspacing/offset of the stock 17 is? a 315/70 means you have a ~12.4 width, so just have to make sure you are far away from the upper control arm.
