I have a 2.5 inch level on the front of my pickup. Did not notice any lose of ride quality. You shouldn't need to buy new shocks unless the ones you have right now need replacing. I would suggest getting an alignment done after you install just to be on the safe side. Post some before and after pics so we can see the difference.

Depending on how you level it will depend on your shock situation. If you use new steering knuckles you will not need new shocks. If you use hockey pucks on top of the springs you will likely need longer shocks as they will be extended that extra 2.5". Either way you will need an alignment afterward.

Just a suggestion, 2" typically raises the front of an 02-05 to level on all 4 corners. I have only heard of people having problems with premature ball joint wear outs on the 2.5" and above hockey puck levels.

yea, if you install the polyurethane coil spacers the most you can install without needing new shocks are the 1.5'' because any bigger on a 2 wheel drive front end over extends the shocks and the ''death wobble'' can occur.

and you will want to get your front end re alined afterward, because any time you go rooting around in your front end everything gets messed up.

Stock shocks are ok to 2" but won't ride well. You won't get "death wobble" because it only happens on 4x4 with solid front axles.
IMO rough country sells a 3" "lift" kit that has new front coils and shocks with a block for the rear if you want to use it and is your best bet

Agree. Alignment is a must anytime you do suspension work. As far as shocks go, I would replace them anytime you raise or lower a vehicle more than an inch. They don't come with a ton of travel to begin with, so shortening or increasing their travel will affect their performance and ride quality.
