Leveling front

I have a 05 Ram 1500 2x2 and want to raise the front end. With a 2" raise, will I loose any ride quality or have to purchase higher shocks ? Also, an alignment is needed after install right ?

I installed a 1.5" level in front on my '06 4x2, and the ride got really stiff. Going over speed bumps was nearly a stop and crawl event. Changed to some Rancho RS5000 and the ride is back.
