NWQRC ... thanks for the heads up, im just doing some research on where to bring my truck to get this done as im sure the delaership will charge me an arm and a leg. It looks like i can save some money on just crankin the stock keys versus buying a new set thats just gonna do the same. As long as i buy the bigger shocks i should be all set.
The install is easy and straight forward, but I would imagine that a shop would charge you 2 hours at shop rate. I would pick up a quality set of shocks that are 2" longer since you are leveling the truck 2" +/- a 1/4 inch. Then install them and crank your torsion bars to your liking. The front end will be a little stiffer because you are adding pre-load to the torsion bars, but IMO it will feel more like a truck should. That was the first thing I did to my friends ram when she got it. I leveled the front end out (2"). She hated how the truck felt like a big car before I cranked them the truck now rides like a truck should. Save the $100+ and the shop fees for something else such as a programmer or your savings account.

oh yea by the way, how long should i wait until getting an alignment after the install? drive for a week, then get alignment?
Yeah that should be more than enough. There wont be any settling after the first few miles but I always like to put the suspension through its paces before an alignment.

Put some pictures up here! i would love to see! I am ready to order some parts this week to level out my truck also and am so lost on what to get. I do want the maximum amount of lift possible for this way though.

So cranking the stock keys and just getting those Pro Comp ES9000 Series should be enough to level, would it be enough to put a 1" block in the back and still crank it to level or is that to much?

Here is a pic of my 05 with a 2.5 Rough Country Level kit. Be sure to get new shocks ASAP. The rear will sag (if you have the stock ones still) and cause the front wheels to camber.

I got mine from a truck shop on the west coast, the aftermarket keys gave me about 2.5 inches and still had almost 2" to go up further, the ride is just as good, but you are gonna want either longer shocks to compensate, or shock extenders....I went with the SkyJacker H7019 from Skyjacker.com(get them cheaper from the scratch and dent section....the only problem with mine were missing the stickers. about $25 a piece and only 5 to ship both. BE PREPARED FOR THE STOCK KEYS TO BE RUST WELDED ON....and the best tools I used were a ball joint puller(looks like a c clamp) to hold the tension then air wrench to undo the bolt and then SLOWLY relieve pressure on the C clamp.

Did any of you guys have or see any problems with the tie rods being at too much of an angle? I had a torsion bar leveling kit put on mine with 35" tires and 10 miles down the road the power steering rack was shot. My mechanic said it was either the 1.5 inch difference in width from the 33's that I had on there or that the shop that put the torsion keys in went too high. Thankfully the tire shop let me go to a 33'' tire. Haven't had any problems yet but if I do I'll just set money aside for a full suspension lift.

My guess would be that they went too high. There are many, many owners running 35" tires with zero issues and also many owners running moderate levels with no issues. The general consensus is that anything over 2" with torsion bars is asking for trouble. It could also have been that your rack was already on the edge of death and the mods simply finished it off. I would still put my money on them going too high.

I had new leveling keys installed on my 2004 this week, now the front end is sitting higher then the rear end . Has anyone had this happen to them when they installed their new keys ? I'm now thinking on adding blocks to the rear end . There is about 2" difference between the front to the back when I measure it .

If your front is sitting 2" higher than the rear then you are headed for major problems. Stock, the rear of these trucks sits about 2.5" higher than the front. So you can do the math on how much your front has been raised if it's 2" higher than the rear now. That's assuming the rear is stock of course. Generally, 2" is the max you want to lift one of these trucks with the torsion bars. Maybe, maybe 2.5" but I personally would not go over 2". If you are sure the measurements are correct then you need to get that fixed asap. It's surely got to ride like crap and I would assume you are getting some vibrations at low speeds when you accelerate. Not to mention, your CVs have got to be screaming in pain.

Raising the back to match is a bad idea. Address the front properly before parts start breaking. I honestly don't see how you could get it that high but if it truly is, it's just a matter of time.

Took my truck back today to the shop . They checked it over and did some tweaking and now it's sitting level the way it should be.
I still have my stock shocks front and rear and I have over 200 k on my truck . Now with the leveling kit should I buy longer shocks for the front and just stock height for the rear ?
