Lifter tick

Just recently purchased a 96 1500 with 89k and it has a really bad lifter tick. Took apart and found nothing obvious, but put back together and now the tick is worse. Don't know how to test hydraulic lifters nor do I want to spend 150+ to replace all of them. Any suggestions, cause I'm beating my head against the wall and getting frustrated (and bloody) trying to figure it out, and after an internet search found nothing.......help please:4-dontknow:

Hydrualic lifters build up pressure to push up against the pushrod to keep zerolash however sometimes the rocker can get loose and cause a similar noise, try going back torque the rocker arms. Anything else you might want to try to put something like seafoam to clean the gallies.
