I recently purchased a ram 2015 ram 2500 with 34,000 miles . I noticed a what I seem to think a loud lifter tick , I've been told that this is common with the 6.4 hemi . I have no idea this is my first non GM in a long time .
is this common and does anyone have a trick on how to quiet it ?

My 2015 1500 does it and I have 50,000 miles on mine. I believe people said it could be the exhaust manifold bolts on the 5.7, not sure if it's congruent with the 6.4. There's also another thread that said it's normally covered under the 100,000 power train warranty.

Depends on the tick. There’s a normal hemi tick that goes away shortly after starting. There’s also a problem with the exhaust manifold breaking bolts and leaking. If you’ve still got warranty I’d take it in and have them check it out.

Are you sure its the lifters and not an exhaust leak from broken manifold bolts?
