Lifts that won't void factory warranty?

Well there is much debate on this topic.
My take is this:
If you buy the Mopar lift, which I believe is a Superlift, you will keep your warranty intact.
You can go up to 2.5" lift without voiding anything. (from what I hear)
It also seems to depend on your service department. Some balk and some don't care.
They cannot void a warranted part that cannot be proven to have failed due to the specific modification you made. Therefore, Big tires and a failed wheel bearing could be cause to not warranty the bearing. -for example.
I plan on putting the KORE leveling springs and shocks on the front end and I have air bags and bilsteins on the rear. I dont think they can fault me for much.
If you put on a 6" lift and 37" tires, I would be worried that they could blame the tire mass for a lot of issues. I would hate to have a transmission issue and have them say it was due to tire mass. I dont know, but it's a gray area and I wouldn't want to have to fight the issue.
So it's a little gamble. I would talk to the service manager at your dealership you intend to use and see what their position is.

I thought the Mopar lift was your only lift guaranteed not to void it?? I would really like to know for sure on this one as I was considering going that route for that very reason...
But if you lift your truck and they can show that the lift was the cause of another failure, they may try not to cover it. Big tires and Wheel bearings are a perfect example.

Walk into the dealership that you would use if you ever need warranty work and ask the shop manager, thats the only way to be sure! The guy at my local dealer said the 2.5 leveling kit is ok in his book and would not void any warranty. I also asked about tire size, he said one tire size up would be ok but anything more than that could lead to problems. Keep in mind that lifts or tires don't void all warranty, only the broken parts that could be cause by your mods.
And they don't have to prove anything, if you mod anything it is subject to void the warranty on the parts you mod. It is at the discretion of the dealer. being nice and getting to know your service techs has it's advantages!!!!

Just a few thoughts. Talking to a shop manager won't net you anything unless its in writting (which you will never get). He can tell everything that you want to hear (and he may have good intentions) but he can be replaced at anytime. Then all you are stuck with is "well he said she said stuff".
Secondly if they do try to deny a warranty and you dispute it then yes it will come down to them proving that the parts you installed lead to the failure of the warrantied parts in question, thanks to the magnuson moss warranty act.

i have heard all different scenarios on this topic. guys with jeeps have had their jeeps flagged, voids warranty from bumper to bumper. this is the extreme and makes no sense to me. my take, some dealers are mod friendly and like repeat business. others will void warranty on suspension items that break, i find this reasonable. my dealer, service manager is pretty upfront. put on any lift you want, offroad if you want, any problem, clean off truck or jeep, including the bottom and remove any branches or sticks stuck up there so he cover his butt in chrysler questions him.

Your right anything can happen. I would still rather talk to the shop instead of going in blind and not having a clue!
That all sounds good in theory but the bottom line is they decide if your mod voids your warranty or not. I have dealt with a few warranty issues at work in and it's very easy to find reason to warranty something or not warranty something! If they think your mod caused the failure I promise you that you are SOL!

Not having any waranty issues yet I will have to take your word on that. Depending on the issue, they would have one hell of a fight to deal with.

Really not up to them. I have a very good friend of mine who is (or was) very much into mustangs. The dealer refused warrenty work based on mods. Called SEMA, and ended up winning a very healthy settlement from the dealership and the svc manager lost his job. Now writes articles for an auto mag. If you don't know better and they tell you that your SOL then you are. If you understand what the law is the dealer that tried to lie to you and violate the law is SOL
