Ive got a 04 2500 5spd reg cab long bed that is in need of a new muffler and was thinkin that now is the time to put duals on it i was layin under it the other day and thought that if i cut it off ahead of the "Y" pipe that you could run two all the way back and not be no trouble all the O2 sensors are up front so what would it hurt? let me know what you guys are runnin for pipe diameter and kind/type of mufflers? Thanks:smileup:

I had my 96 taken to a custom shop where they mandrel bent the stainless, however, I know that they ran the duals right from the stock manifolds. they utilized 2 Magnaflow stainless highflow Cats and two stainless mufflers. The truck had a roll pan so i added 2 low profile tips (like the Camaro Tips) and tucked them up very tight to the bottom of the roll pan. I know they utilized the stock O2 sensors and I believe they were right before the Cats, but i dont know where the original O2 sensor was.

I have an X pipe where the Y pipe used to be and am running 2.5" pipes from there all the way out with a pair of blowmasters.
I would recommend going with 2.25" pipes and a dual in/out magnaflow or a pair of magnaflows.
With the stock pipes being 2.25" and then openning up to the 2.5" I am losing a little bit of low end. When I get around to chaning things out I am going to either go 2.25s to the mufflers and leave my 2.5 pipes after that or go back to a Y with a single 3" and a single in dual out muffler.
