Kinda looks like all it does is modify the O2 sensor voltage, leaning out the mix to burn less gas. A leaner mix will raise exhaust temps, really hard on your engine. I'd look to get a real programmer.

yeah...that looks like all the ones on ebay...like Dean said...stick with the real ones
