Loud Ticking noise from Clutch or Trans

Hey everyone, I'm having difficulties finding someone with a similar problem.

I have a 2002 Ram 1500, with a 4.7L V8, 4x4, 5 speed manual transmission.

When I start the vehicle up and have it idling at neutral, there is a consistent loud ticking noise. This noise will tick faster as the rpm's increase, and slower as the rpm's decrease. The ticking noise also goes away when I push the clutch in only just about half an inch.

I can hear the ticking noise while I'm driving as well, but it will go away after the vehicle warms up. it will tick while in first, second and third gear.

I am also unsure as to if these are related or not, but on mornings when it is really cold, after allowing the vehicle to warm up for 5 minutes or so, when I start driving, the first shift into third gear is always rough, and grinds sometimes.

Is my trans going? I sure as $&*# hope not...

An explanation or a breakdown of troubleshooting/diagnosis of my issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for taking the time to read and help!!!

Sound like a bearing, either the pilot or the throw out. Usually when one goes, the other isnt far behind.
