Yeah, I loved the old mechanical fuel pumps off the block. So easy. I understand putting these new fangled fuel pumps close to tank level or below as its easier to push and not suck, but why does it have to be in the tank ? More $$ for service dept ?

I think there set up for it lol with the overhead winch. I think there's like only 4 torx to undo and some wire disconnects. Why would they put the friggin pump in the tank ? In the good ol days mounted to firewall. That's why you call it a fire wall lol.

I replaced it at 125k. They do suck. 2 ways to do, lift bed or drop tank. They put the Stoopid pump in the tank. Maybe they all do it I don't know. The lifted my bed.

I fill up at 1/4 tank now. I can't prove it but I think it makes your fuel pump last longer than sucking off bottom of tank. My last Z-71 I used to run her down to the bone and sure enough needed a pump.
