Just got my bull bar on. Mounted it using the tow hook bolts, despite the manufacturer telling me I wouldn't be able to keep/use my hooks after installing their bar. :gy: Just had to saw a few slots into the air dam to pass the mounting brackets through.. worked like a charm.. looks like a factory install :)

Detailed walk through..

Lowered the air dam to allow my husband a bit more room to use the power drill..

Installed the support plates to the tow hook anchor bolts, marked an outline of the plates and drilled two holes so we could see where to drill from underneath..

We snapped the air dam back into place then, using a 3/4" wood drill bit, made two larger holes...

We made a masking tape guide and then used a jig saw to create the slot for the plate to drop through..

The plates fit through the first slots we cut, but we didn't take into account the bolts.. so we made a few more cuts with the jig saw and all fit fine after that..

Then we mounted the bar and called it a night.. we have a little adjusting to do still, but we had worked through our normal dinner time, were getting tired and needed a drink! :gy:

Just got back from a long weekend in Southern Wyoming.. went fishing on Saturday (pic #1) and crossed the Continental Divide (pic #2).. all in all, a great weekend and a wonderful drive! Was looking forward to getting some mud on my tires for the first time.. but alas, all the snow had melted! Surprise there! I did drive into a few bar ditches in my hunt for mud and it seems I need a tailgate seal as my bed was full of dirt after driving on a dirt road for about 22 miles.. LOL!

And I came home to my bed light kit and replacement tailgate bar from Recon.. so I think I know how I'm spending my day off tomorrow ;)

Upon arriving home, I decided to be bold with my baby and take here out back for a down home photo shoot. The cattle gate we have is in bad need of replacement and is difficult for me to open and close.. but lucky me, hubby left it open yesterday after mowing. The 'road' that leads to the back 40 is very narrow and I've always been scared to drive my Ram back there as I would surely scratch her.. but today I was victorious (in making it through and getting some great shots)!

LOL!! No, I didn't think so. I was referring to the landscape!
Oh! Yes, we absolutely love where we live. :) Unlike the big city, we are surrounded by mountains, hills and desert and wildlife frequently visit our 'yard'. I could never live in the city again.

Some news:
Husband and I received notification from DWR (Dept. of Wildlife Resources) that we drew tags in the antlerless application draw. Seems more mud, and some blood, is in store for my Ram come this November! Let's just pray I don't get any scratches too. :158: :str:

Sweet! Sounds like you and hubby will have GREAT grill nights! But, do me a favor Kai. Have hubby use his ride or buy you a beater to go-a-hunting! I cannot bear to imagine that Mineral Gray gem of a truck with a single scratch on it!:Wow1: Good luck you two!!

Bed lights finally installed, after sitting in my living room for over a month. Sheesh, I feel like I am starting to slack off, lol.

These little strips certainly put off a great deal of bright light for their size! I wired them to the cargo light so they illuminate with key unlock and cargo light button in the dash. And they work perfectly! Couldn't be happier with them.

Thanks guys. I've been pushing the idea around of installing some LED strips to my interior as well. A few things are making me hesitate.. I cannot settle on a color and I am not sure exactly where to install them or how long of strips I should buy.. too many ways to skin the cat, I suppose.
