Hi All, I am looking to replace my interior lights on my 2012. I was trying to get into the map lights. I don't want to break anything. Anyone have some pointers???

They just pry open gently. I will have a video shortly to show people how to get into all the lights, Ive been getting a lot of questions about it lately

I was able to get into the light at the back of the cab. I was just affraid to break something with the map push switches.

do you pry the individual map lights or the whole plastic piece

I got into the map lights. Nice. I used a knife blade and slid it in. I found that there is a pointer hanging off the lens side pointing towards the back. I ended up sliding the blade in at the windshield side and pried slowly.

So i got the leds in but when i push them they do not turn on. If i open the door they do, or if i turn the master switch on they do. Your video was really helpful ss4 thanks again. If you have any information on why they wont turn on when pushed let me know.

I havent been able to figure out why some peoples dont work and some do. The best advice I can give so far is to take the lens off against and put it back in slowely/carefully because maybe somehow you missed the "button" that makes them come on when you push them.


I need a truck local to me or someone who is willing to ship me their bulbs to test and retest and figure shit out.

The weird thing is when the truck is started the lights will come on when i push them. Its just when the truck is off they won't come on.

Like the truck is off key out?? Or the truc is off key is on "run"?

I have the same problem on mine. Here is what mine did.

Put in a resistor, and presto chango, works fine.
