I have noticed when I use my truck to move stuff and I take my tonneau cover off.... my mileage increases by a mile or two...especially on long trips... wouldn't you think it would be the opposite? if I recall didn't mythbusters prove that as well?

Should be better with a cover or tailgate down. Air has a place to escape or go over more smoothly.

Apparently an old wives tale. If mileage went up, a lower tailgate or tonneau would be standard on all trucks so they could claim higher fuel mileage to the EPA.
