I found this in another post from HoustonHemi:
"Cabin Air Filter. Dodge part number 5058693AA, OR, Purolater C25869 ($7), Hastings HAAF1328, or Wix 24578. According to Fram's website the CF10729 is a replacement for Mopar # 5058693AA.
(These parts are all "OEM" for a 2010 Dodge Avenger, Caliber, Compass, etc. They will not be found by searching in any parts book under 'Dodge Ram'!)"

Hope this helps! I will probably go with the Fram as well.

That # LOOKS familiar but I will confirm.

To save removing the fan - not like that's a chore - drill a small hole in the piece of plastic your removing, put a small screw in the hole with a cord attached to it. When the plastic is cut away you simply pull on the cord(String) and out that piece comes. Keep this in mind anytime wyour removing a piece of plastic or other material that might behard to get at after its cut out.
Haven't checked to see if this mod can be done on my 2012 yet - but anyone knows please add to the thread! :)

Awesome write up man! Thx for sharing your skillz!!!

Great idea removing the fan as well so no chips/cuts pieces fall into it and possibly cause little damage (why risk it when it takes a couple minutes to remove).

Before I empty out the glove box, anyone know if this is doable on the 2012?

Very nice Mod by the way!

The 2012 I did for a friend was identical. If you open the glove box and look under the dash, you can see the filter opening. :)

There is no sweet way of doing this on pre-2009 Rams. :(
Is there even a spot for a filter to go on 3rd gens?
Yes.....No. :wow:
You can add a cabin filter to a 3rd gen Ram, but it's a filter screen/plate/thing-a-ma-do that's installed into the air intake at the windshield. I understand that they do work well, but have no personal experience with this. :4-dontknow:
