Anyone ever consider drilling 2-3 inch holes in the fender side of the stock CAI. Looking at it tonight you could defiantly do some modifications to the fender side of the black box. Was wondering if anyone has tried this or had opinions about it?

Some people have cut a 3" or 4" hole in the bottom of the box and run a tube to the front of the truck to catch cooler air. I think if you use the "search" function you can find some discussions about this DIY mod and also some pictures of what people have done.

Looses the OEM resale etc

As they guy posted the photo below for his homebrew modification, you can certainly do what works to move cold air in to the intake/air filter.

The only problem is that you'll potentially ruin the OEM intake when resell time comes.

Lot's of vehicle owners come up with something to improve air flow.
