I am happy, just got my stubby antenna in the mail today and installed it. I ordered it from Craven Speed. It was a very easy install, comes with 2 adapters for differant generation Rams, and the adapter screws in with an allen wrench. Then I screwed it into the antenna mount on the truck. Done! I like the look, reception is reduced but not a great deal. I still get all my local stations fine. I would not try to get a station half way across timbuktoo because that dont fly :)
* I would add this note to help with install since instructions dont come in the box, and it is left up to common sense, unless you look at the website for installation instructions. When holding the antenna I suggest using a piece of rubber between your pliers and antenna while installing adapter stud. ( piece of an old hose or innertube, I used a broken vacuum cleaner belt that I saved for just such applications) That will save you from scratching it.

Then I dropped in to my local Advanced Auto Parts store and bought a K&N filter to drop in the stock intake box. I dont see any noticeable differance in driving it, but I do notice a really slight, but kool, increase in intake sound. So I have 2 new kool things....and so it begins. :)
(I also kept my cargo net from my 2500 for this truck.)

Little Mod Photos

OK here are the Little Mods I applied today. It all starts someplace and it might as well be with the little things I can just run out and do without running a major purchase by the wife. Also if anyone can tell me a thread that explains how to add the Mods to my list for my profile I would appreciate it :) I tried it an failed.

If nothing else, you will never buy another air filter. I have one as well.
This is true, I have always used K&N filters in my vehicles. They have proven to be good products for me and I always go with a good thing.
Thanks to all for the great reviews :)

OK Sooo..Bad news on the tow hooks...Man! Ebay reverted back to an old deleted address and even though i had checked everything before I paid, it still got mixed up and seller "Coppus" sent it to old address. I have tried to get ahold of him like 5 times and having huge mixup here to get this taken care of. I dont know what to do now. I have tried sending him email, now it says it got shipped to Tiffin Oh. DOH!! I live in Maine and both addresses were in Maine. Never went to either of them. Im stumped.

Wow, that is a stubby antenna! I bought one that was about 6" for my 06 SLT and my reception went to crap. I painted the ugly and long original in black, and installed it back on. Funny thing is that my new truck has the same ugly antenna. I wished they would use retractable ones.

I still get decent reception actually. I have noticed it drops off in hilly areas and under bridges etc ...thats to be expected , but I still get good reception on stations within 70 miles or so. I use only local stations anyway so its a no brainer for the stubby for me. Especially since I like the look of it, and it does not drag in the car wash, no need to take it off everytime like my old mast.
I use my Sat radio alot too, so that offsets any am/fm issues too.

the mods get more expensive the further on you go
Thats the truth. Mods are as addictive as smoking or drinking...but at least we have something to show for it! LOL

I have a 72 Barracuda, a 92 Dakota, a 05 VTX1800 street bike and my wife has a '11 Stang, and now we have the '12 Ram.......the credit cards are always busy...LOL

Offered to pay the shipping the second time and declined it!! Great guy! Should be here by the 8th. Coming snail mail, but thats ok by me. Ill bide my time. Going ot price the lower facia instead of cutting mine up. i may try it first and then when( notice i said when not if) I screw it up I can just install the other one. LMAO...

BAH ,,,Been away from forum a bit and unable to get the tow hooks in yet. I am struggling with Trigeminal Neuralgia...It is really painful and anyone that has it knows what i mean. I have it on left side of my face and am not really into the whole brain surgery thing. I am working on getting it under control with meds but the VA is dragging their heels on the MRI needed to accurately diagnose the area of difficulty. Go figure.... So it will have to be a feel good day to get the hooks in. Really hoping for one soon!.. This sucks :( Good to get logged in and read a bit. Love this forum! :)
