Hey Guys,

This might be wordy but I'll try to keep it short. These issues are driving me nuts. I'm hoping one of you is way smarter than me and can help me out.

-Sometimes when I start the truck, the HVAC is stuck to floor setting. No matter how many times I switch it it won't move. If I turn the truck on and off a few times it'll normally go back to working perfectly without a hitch. Also, sometimes it will spontaneously come back to life when driving. I don't know what aggravates it or what makes it work better. Took it to Dodge, they can't replicate the issue.

-Additionally, when I plug my little bluetooth scanner in, the cluster will start throwing tranny faults. Unplug the scanner, all is well in the world.

-TPMS is showing a fault saying it doesn't know where the tires are located. Reads pressures for all four tires. Is there a relearn procedure I need done?

-The only code to come up is a communication loss with the BCM. From what i've read, alot of guys seem to have this code.

Any additional input is welcome.

Thanks!

all I can say is GOOD LUCK.
it can be a faulty switch for ANYTHING, within the cab...

I had some odd electrical problems on my 2014 3500 CC,... random problems, and somedays the issues showed themselves more often than other days.

the head lights would come on (not always) when the driver door was opened... regardless of the switch position
and the go off at times while the switch was in the ON position (safety hazard) one could turn the switch off, then back on and they were fine...for awhile.

the truck would lock its doors ONLY when the windows were up, doors were closed, key was in the ignition and you were NOT in the drivers seat... such as when one gets out to open a gate.
you were LOCKED OUT.. it never happend as long as a window was open, but it would lock the locks when the door was swung open sometimes, no matter the position of the windows..

when inside the truck, if the locks locked themselves as sometime ahappened, the door lock button would NOT unlock the doors... only unlock by using the key FOB button.

sometimes the engine wouldnt start, and the dash screen said "rear door open"... but it wasnt. sometimes I could open the doors and close them and it made no difference... if I shut the key off, then cycle all the doors and it would reset itself and start up...

It was a regular "Christine" type of truck, and I put up with it for 3 months before finally taking it in..
I asked the dealer what could cause it, and they said its impossible..
NO codes showed, but they reflashed the computer and thought it would satisfy my want of a reset on the computer, and I would go away with no more complaining...

No different...
so I gave the service dept the truck to drive for a few days, they had it 16 days with different techs taking it home and checking it out....

it was clearly seen in a day or two there was a definite problem and without any obvious reason or connection to all the symptoms....

but as one of the symptoms were the master doorlock button on the drivers door failed to open the locks sometimes, when it is supposed to work even when all others fail, they decided to replace the lock button first and then move on the next symptom....
the new master door lock switch fixed ALL the problems..
they deduced that it had to have been backfeeding the the computer which caused the light timers and door locks to function oddly and randomly and sometimes in conjunction with each other...

its all on record at the dealership..

I just got my truck back last week from that electrical problem... $265.
this week its in the shop again because now the cooling fan doesnt come on... the engine has over heated a few times...
just an hour ago they called me and said its a bad electronic fan clutch...
$622 installed.... we will see what is the next thing to fail on this truck with only 64,000mi on it...

I also forgot to add that the truck was involved in a front end collision by the previous owner. I didn't know about it because it was never reported to the insurance company. I'm glad they found your problem as I suspect I have something stupid going on as well.

Good grief, that's a heck of a story. I am surprised to hear they got it figured out, but glad you got it fixed

If the code is a U0140 then it's probably the one covered by TSB 18-072-16. Dealer should re-flash for free. I had mine done last week.

Hi tobasko,

Sorry to hear this is happening! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis feel free to send me a PM with your VIN so I can look into this further.
