What are you guys running for mud flaps on your lifted trucks??

I have a 2013 1500 with a 6"lift and just have the stock mud flap........my Nitto trail grapplers are going to make a mess of the paint if I don't get something better.

Any suggestions on a good fit and a good look???

Thanks.

You could try flares. There are several types which may please your eye. Some state laws may say you have to have some kind. It's going to be what is up to you.

There most likely oversized and stick out.
You obviously didn't look at my profile picture or signature :gy: That by itself won't make a mess of the paint unless you're driving on rocky roads. I'm running 37" Toyo MT's that stick out 3" past the fender and I don't have any issues. Sure there's a few rock chips on the underside of each rocker panel, but no more than a completely stock truck would have. The lugs on Toyo MT's or Trail Grapplers are spaced so far apart that they generally don't pick up rocks. I have far more chips on my front bumper from vehicles in front of me than I do anywhere else on the truck.

Well I'm not sure how the specific tires he's got throw rocks but I've got 38x14.5 with 2" spacers and offset rims that stick out wayyy further than your pic and yes my paint is destroyed with rarely driving gravel...an extreme case but none the less. I have open country a/t. Probably closer lugs.

Yes the AT tires have a much tighter tread pattern which will pick up more rocks than an MT tire. Here are the best pictures I could find to show the difference:

The Trail Grappler has a similar tread design to the Toyo MT (bottom) which as you can see has some pretty wide lugs; especially on the side. It takes a pretty big rock to get caught in them and flung up. Generally rocks that big aren't found on a paved road. Offroad is a different story....

Haha nope, not the oil field. I'm a project manager for a construction company. Went to BCIT directly out of highschool, completed 4 years worth of school in 2 years, and was fortunate to get a really good job a few months after graduating. Hardwork pays off

3" past the fender is a lot. I hope you have some over-sized fender flares.

Nope, OEM is working just fine. It sounds like more than it looks with the height of my truck. When you have an 8" lift fender flares aren't going to make much of a difference. Anything that does fly up is going to be behind the flare already.

I have fender flares and I also have the stock mud flaps on.....The tires throw up a huge amount of rocks, sand or anything on the road. The side of my truck is always covered I'm noticing rock chips and scratches from it. I live in Alberta and when they sand the roads in the winter it is far from sand it is small rocks and the tires love picking them up.

I've been told the kick back mud flaps are the best for any lifted truck?

Tell me about it. While in NC lat week, I was behind a guy with a lift, over sized tires, no mud guards, no flares, and he did a great job hammering my windshield and front end with road debris.
