I have a guy offering me a good price on a flowmaster, however, the outlet pipes are 2.5" and my stock pipes are 2.25". Can this muffler be used?

If you're getting the muffler welded in place, you can use the 2.5 outlet muffler. The 2.5 size is more common, and any good exhaust guy can properly weld the 2.5 outlets to our 2.25 tailpipe size. I have a 2.5 outlet Borla muffler welded to the 2.25 tailpipe ends. I watched the guy prep and locate the muffler and tailpipe final positions, and they were perfectly aligned. If some guy just jammed everything together and cobbed it up, I could see a problem, but then that would probably be a problem with the exact size piping too.

Like they said, a 3" single inlet/2.5" dual outlet can be used by putting reducers between the 2.5" to 2.25".
