Light bars? You where in the Air Force, how about the spot light from a Herc, or Galaxy
mentioning that reminded me of what i had planned a long time ago when i first got my silver ram. i was sitting on a flightline patrol watching B1s do touch and gos, admiring their landing gear light. you can see that sucker in the distance, way off.... stupid bright. so i started doing homework on them, and low and behold, NAPA sells the housing and bulbs for them! A buddy actually purchased two for his ford diesel and those were clearly brighter than my hid headlights. i forgot about that idea as he separated and i ended up with four hella hids on my front end much later down the road.

lol it was definitely a sight to see, they had them set up remotely and followed in a helicopter that couldn't keep up with it. The heli topped out at 130 and the Impala just pulled away like it was doing 60
Haha it was awesome, I had that episode (well all seasons lol) on my external hard drive when I was deployed. I really wanted the impala to fly though

well guys (and gals) I'm finally at a point were I can say a ram is in the close future for me.

it's been a crazy past couple months between full time work and school, the fire department and my family so I've been content with my 275$ beater. this weekend it started leaking coolant from an unknown location. I suspect a crack in the rad as the pool is caused by runoff from the bumper. the wife asked how much I plan on putting into the thing as it was only bought for 275. I took that as she doesn't forsee putting money into it, which she confirmed. so began my hunt for a ram again!

I showed her a couple really clean second gens, and all I got was resistance from her. after some digging, she said we need four "real" doors, not what the second gens have. FINE BY ME!!! so into the third Gen category I search now. I'm still pulling for a CTD like I've been planning, but I have opened my mind up to 1500s again should the right truck/deal come into play.

I don't have a time frame for anything yet as we are now wading into our first home buying process, and that has precedence over the truck for now. the fact that I have the wife on board and committed to the truck bodes well. I'll keep y'all posted on any potential candidates for the newest 00RAM

(side note... if this car hadn't shit on my plans, this next month would have brought around the purchase of a 2013 Harley Davidson 883 IRON straight from the factory, with a 1250 conversion kit on order as well. I've been drooling over it for a while and it was going to happen for sure. I'm slightly upset about not getting it, but I'm beyond pleased to get a Ram again. the truck is a better purchase anyway.)

someday Brad. the 883 iron off HDs assembly line is 7,999. with that price and a factory warranty, I certainly was attracted to it. if you ever see one, even online, you'll understand my attraction. I love the blacked out look, and this bike is all that from the factory.

same here haha. soon....

local Dodge dealership doesn't have much used inventory so that's almost crossed off the list. the local Chrysler / Jeep dealership also has minimal inventory although they are looking for me. Nothing around the small sales lots either. Ford and Chevrolet dealers have a couple single cab long or short beds but that's nothing I'm interested in. Craigslist has a handful of options but nothing worth looking into. best option is a 02 four door long bed 1500 4x4 listed at 8990, with the 4.7 and automatic. I love the body, but that thing would guzzle gas.

so the search continues.

I like to keep you all in the loop here with this thread so here's the current situation.

the house we were going to buy is now out of the picture. the seller did some things and said some things that rubbed me wrong, and more importantly, ticked off my wife. me and my wife both feel that with a huge purchase such as a house, we should be completely comfortable with the process, and the seller is making it the exact opposite.

so we moved on. Thursday we are looking at 6 houses in our price range and hopefully from there we will be moving forward on one based off Thursday.

so once again... the new 00RAM is still a mystery. as soon as the house is done, then the truck will follow. my car is definitely on it's last leg as it is.

I was upset at first but I'm glad it happened. looking online and driving around house hunting, we've realized we can get ALOT more house than what this first one is for our price range.

there's 3 beautiful ones were looking at in the historical district of the city, all on the river. I'd like that because then I can go fishing all the time lol

Yea... we were well on our way to spring until last night. rained all day. thunderstorms into the evening. I kid you not, it turned to snow and continued to thunderstorm. certainly different...

now there's an 1/8 inch of ice covering everything, with a couple inches of snow on top. and there's more coming.

in keeping up with recent activity in this thread, I got my back pay from the veterans affairs today for gi bill, so within a week we are going to be making an offer on a house we like.

oddly enough Andrew, the house we like is the first we looked at lol.

and to tie this into the new 00RAM, the house we want is extremely affordably priced, so there has been an increase in the funding for the new 00RAM. No potential rams yet but I feel it getting closer and closer. I have a couple beautiful mods already planned out, with a couple already in the garage.

this truck has no idea what's in store for it

Thanks

Oh for sure bud! I'll definitely order a couple parts from you guys. just gotta really make a decision on what my build will be tailored to. I want a red or a black truck. if I go the red route, I will eventually repaint it to the exact paint code of Pierce Fire Engines. If I go the black route, It will be a variety of the blacked out look, although it would have subtle differences as I don't want this truck to look like just another murdered truck.

I'm more than ready to start

put an offer in on a house yesterday. got a counter offer today, and we countered back. we have our lender in line... hopefully the rest goes smoothly.

side note, I'm definitely getting sick of this car driving business. I need my ram.

with all this waiting, I'm leaving myself too much time to think about what will happen with this truck. I now am considering a silver build.

THE NEXT STEP IN 00RAM HAS COME!

tonite we recieved a notification that the seller accepted our offer on the house!

so in the next couple weeks, more time will be spent with our lender smoothing out details, hiring a home inspector, and dealing with a VA appraiser. If any of you US members have served in our armed forces and opted to use a VA home loan, you know that there are a few more hoops to jump through. I have been forewarned that the VA Appraisal system almost has home inspection qualities built in.

Reguardless if anything is found to be an issue, the seller will fix it and we will press on! this was a good day for us, and for the new 00RAM.
