Been searching here and the inter web and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I want to have my Uconnect display always default to the navigation map screen. The best I can do is get it to default to the Navigation home screen, which displays "Where Am I", "Maps" and such. I want it to always show the map unless I choose radio or some other function. Is it possible?

I know that with my '09 radio
If i shut off the ignition, it will stay on whatever the radio was on when i start the Ram back up
Like if i am using the Navigation mapping on a long trip, then i need to get gasoline & shut the Ram off. When i restart it, it will still be in Navigation mode

Of course the 2013/2014 radios are different

Thanks for the reply. Mine will stay in the navigation mode per say. I can put it in the map mode, but when I shut the truck off and restart it comes up in the navigation menu. I have to select view map to go back into the map. I've looked in the options and settings and just can't get I to stay in map after shouting down the truck.

Sent an email to Chrysler yesterday, not expecting to hear back from them. But who knows, if enough of us ask the question they'll do a software update (wishful thinking! I know).

I do like the fact that I can have the smaller map display while I am in the "Radio" mode. But I have to push the small "map" button on the right. I do have some problems getting the display brightness to work right (day & night settings). Can't adjust all settings. My Nav ends up being too bright at night so I have to keep it on night mode.

Even using the "Map" button requires me to re-select "map" on each following restart. It sure would be nice to be able to select map or navigation and have the map screen reappear on each restart without any input from me.

I had a similar problem trying to adjust the brightness for the night mode. I was trying to do it in daylight. I tried to cover the sensor on the dash and it still wouldn't let me change it even when I selected the night setting. I tried to adjust it again after dark and it worked and saved it. I have it set to night all the time now. I can see the screen better in daylight with the glare from the sun with the night setting.

Just got a reply from the mothership. No way to get the navigation screen to be the default screen, darn!!!

Here's their reply

"Vehicle Description: RAM 1500 SPORT 4X2

Hello William, This is Justin your Uconnect Case Manager. I received your email and unfortunately at this point in time there is no way to change the default screen. It could possibly come in a future update which you can check www.driveuconnect.com for updates for your media center but at this time it is not possible to change the default screen. I do apologize for the inconvenience this may cause but this issue will be documented for you which will alert Chrysler."
