Looking for some help!

Swapped out my blown 1997 5.2 engine with a used (tested) engine from a local supplier. The engine came from a 1995 5.2 Dodge Ram.

Once everything was installed the engine idles very rough and throws a code for crankshaft position sensor. The sensor was swapped out twice but no change. It runs like the timing or spark is off. Or the distributer is off?

Almost every thing else was swapped over from old engine including throttle body with Hughs plenum.

My real question is the ECMs were different from 1995 to 1997 (1 plug vs 3). Should the old ECM need to be flashed for the new engine?

My next plan is to take it to a Dodge Dealership. My local shop seems to be at a loss. They are hoping the dealership has more advanced diagnostic tools.

Any thought or advice?
